Why We Run
Mads Lyngsø
“I don’t run to compete or impress anyone - I run to feel myself and keep life balanced.”
Running — from a lifelong habit to a personal sanctuary
Mads Lyngsø is a 29-year-old model from Copenhagen, who also runs Nineties™ - a creative studio producing visual content for fashion and lifestyle brands. His days are split between productions, training, and everything in between. In the middle of it all, running has become his sanctuary - the place where his thoughts settle and the noise fades away.
He has been running for as long as he can remember. As a former football player, speed was a natural part of his identity, and running was simply something he was good at. But today, it’s no longer about being fast - it’s about the feeling, the rhythm, the calm.
“Running gives me peace. It’s my mental reset - a place without noise, where I get my energy and inspiration back.”
For Mads running isn’t something he forces into his schedule - it’s what gives him the space and clarity he needs to handle everything else. It’s his way of being present, away from screens, pressure, and the constant pace of his creative work. He doesn’t run to chase splits, records, or performance; he runs to feel grounded and to feel like himself.
“For me, running isn’t about times, medals, or pushing harder than anyone else. It’s my way to step away from the noise, clear my head, and just feel good in my own body. It’s simple, it’s consistent, and it’s mine.”

Running as a Mental Reset
For Mads, running is simple and convenient - a way to get outside, move, and recharge. It’s his moment to step away from emails, notifications, and the usual to-do lists. When he’s out there, he doesn’t have to plan, decide, or worry - he just runs.
“The best part of running is that it clears my head - nothing else matters for a while.”
Good music keeps him going, and the rhythm of his feet sets a pace that feels natural. As he runs, he notices small things he normally misses: the cool morning air, the way the sunlight hits the streets, the quiet nod of another runner passing by. These little details make the run feel fresh and alive.
It’s not about chasing times or competing. Mads doesn’t measure success in minutes or kilometers - he measures it in how he feels afterward. Running is about movement, rhythm, and clarity. It’s about feeling good in his own body and keeping balance in everyday life.
“I don’t run to chase times - I run to feel myself.”
Running gives him calm and energy at the same time. It’s a mental reset, a space where he can let thoughts untangle themselves. Sometimes ideas come, sometimes he just zones out, and either way, he comes back feeling lighter, more focused, and ready for whatever the day throws at him.
The Brands Mads Can Believe In
Running apparel matters to Mads - not as a status symbol, but as an extension of who he is. Since he cares about how he dresses in daily life, it feels natural to care about how he looks when he trains too. He prefers minimalist design. Calm expressions. Intention over trends.
“I want something functional, but still with aesthetics and a sense of calm.”
In an industry full of noise, slogans, and hype, Mads gravitates toward brands that feel honest - brands with values he can see himself in. The identity has to make sense. The brand has to stand for something.
This is where Toujours Actif stands apart.
To Mads, the brand represents balance and consistency - a quiet drive that doesn’t scream for attention. It understands everyday life. The steady momentum. The discipline that doesn’t need to be loud.
“There’s a calmness in the brand that I connect with. It’s not about pushing harder - it’s about keeping going, always active, but in your own way.”
Toujours Actif matches his approach: minimalist, quality-focused, and stripped of anything unnecessary. Function without noise. Design without excess.
His favorite item is the shorts and the Running Vest - clean, lightweight, and perfectly fitted, so comfortable that he almost forgets he’s wearing them. To Mads, the apparel reflects who he is, effortlessly combining function and style without trying too hard.
And that's exactly what Mads stands for.
